Kicks took on the mighty Famous Brands FC on Friday 28th. Kicks’ fans were again shocked to see only four players showing up for the game, actually only three regular players showed up, Leonardinho, Ponkic and Little Melf who brought in a skinny but supper fast young man that goes by the name K. “This is a suicide mission, Kicks can’t play this game without a substitute, they will lose 25-0” said a concerned fan.
Indeed the game began. Kicks went in this game occupying number 1 spot while Famous Brands were sitting on the number 2 spot. Famous Brands came heavily on Kicks but the defense marshaled by the two Kicks strong men Ponkic and Melf absorbed the pressure and prevented them from beating Leonardinho in the post. K terrified them upfront. As foreseen, fatigue got to Kicks after playing the whole first half without a sub and eventually Brands broke through.
Denverio who was excused for the game, came from his company’s year-end function to watch the game but ended up helping the tired but never give-in Kicks in the 2nd half. Surprisingly, Kicks’ fan Tshepo Mokone ‘West’ also came to play. The Die Hard Kicks gave Famous Brands a tough game, something their coach referred to as a game they will never forget. Kicks scored 6 goals [1 goal through K, and 5 goals through Leonardiho] courtesy of the team’s hard work, unfortunately the Brands scored 5 more goals than Kicks. 11-6 is the final score.
“What a game. Though Kicks lost it, I admire their fighting spirit. I thought it would be worse, a suicide mission but they proved me wrong. They reminded me of the Spartans. A big two thumbs up to my boys…” mentioned a happy Kicks’ fan.

Battle of the giants
Friday the 21st was the night all Division A teams were expected to play 2 games each. Kicks’ fans were shocked to see their team’s line up which consisted of only 5 players to fight all 2 battles. Other teams brought at least 8 players to the battle.
The “Spartans” [as Kicks is labeled lately] included Ponkic, McDinovic, Tshepisto, Denverio and Leonardinho as players, and the injured Dumino as coach.
Fabulous Kicks collided with the great Shooters in the first. Both teams displayed a vast of attacking football with Kicks in the lead of goals through out the game. Kicks’ exceptional goal minder Tshepisto produced good saves. The rock solid Ponkic did the usual outstanding work at the back assisted by Denverio who provided world class passes that resulted in Kicks scoring 10 goals [2 goals by Ponkic and Leonardihno, 8 goals from the man of the night, Kicks’ very own deadly striker McDinovic]. Unfortunately Shooters also scored 10 goals with the equalizer coming in the last 9 seconds. 10-10 was the final score.
Tired looking Kicks took on the fresh looking Super Oops in the second battle. Again both sides produced high quality soccer skills. Kicks managed to score 7 goals [1 from Leonardinho, and 6 from who-else? the man who reminded the crowd of the great Pele, McDinovic]. Just like déjà vu Super Oops scored 7 with 2 equalizers coming in the last 1 minute. 7-7 was the final score.

Kick 'n Boboza: Prepare for glory

Kicks off to a good start
Fabulous Kicks spilt out the first ink into the first page of its Chapter 2 of Kick ‘n Boboza: The Journey Continues, when it took on the ambitious Siemens Soccer A team in the first game of the league. In the absence of coach Sir Little Melf, Mr Firewall Thlaku took over the heavy duty to his shoulders and players gave him the same respect they normally give Sir Liitle Melf.
Kicks took the lead through Leonardinho’s strike 3 minutes into play. Siemens fought back with Young Bullet’s goal to make it 1-1. Then the sensational Ru who was on fire that night restored Kicks lead with 2 successive goals to make it 3-1. Again, determined Young Bullet restored his team’s hope with a goal and made it 3-2. Dumino added more woes to Siemens with an outstanding shot to put Kicks in a comfortable 4-2 lead. The Solid-Rock Pokinic crushed Siemens’ hopes with a burning shot to make it 5-2. Siemens made it 5-3 shortly after.
Leonardinho increased Kicks’ lead to 6-3 with a powerful shot before releasing Kicks’ deadly striker McDinovic from the post. The lethal McDinovic scored 3 successive goals courtesy of brilliant passes from the maestro Denverio. 9-3 was the final score. And Kicks got extra two points for dressing-up in a uniform. “On behalf of the team, I like to thank Kicks’ loyal fans led by Mr Ali Cat and Anthony for their support, Kicks is nothing without them” said the happy caretaker coach Mr Thlaku.
Testing Waters
A friendly game was arranged immediately after Kicks’ victory over Siemens. Kicks were put to a tough test against Basebenzi a team that plays in the same league ranks as Kicks. Basebenzi had just won its league opener 1-0 against the very strong B.A.S.C Shooters side. Basebenzi beat Kicks 8-4 after playing almost a goalless first half. Basebenzi seemed to know exactly what they were doing compared to Kicks. Kicks struggled to get the ball from Basebenzi in various occasions. Kicks should take that game as a reminder that they are in a very tough league.

And Let the Games begin
Fabulous Kick n Boboza who beat the skillful Super Ooops 8-7 last Friday are set to meet the brothers of one of its previous Division’s toughest opponents Siemens Soccer A tomorrow Friday the 14/11 at 19:00 for the opening game of the league. Kicks the Division B winners, were promoted to Division A, the toughest division that comprises the B.A.S.C.Shooters, Super Ooops, Famous Brands FC , and Siemens Soccer A.
“Obviously we will take on this game with a different approach. We know it is important to win an opening game since we don’t know what lies ahead” said the respected Kicks’ Coach Sir Little Melf. McDinovic the man that scored most of the goals in last week’s assessment game against Super Ooops said he is looking forward to the opener: “Look, we proved we are worthy to play in this League last week, those who are skeptical should come and watch us tomorrow”. On the other side Siemens Soccer A team’s captain said tomorrow’s game is a must win for them especially for the newly promoted youngster Young Bullet who is still bitter at Kicks for destroying their dreams of winning gold last season.

And the Gold winners are...
Kick ‘n Boboza conquers the Anoche [the Last Night]
Friday the 31st was the last night of the league something the Spanish call the Anoche. KB News tells us how it went:
Kicks looking for a place in the Final
Kicks took on the tough Siemens team in one semifinal while the powerful Car Boutiques were battling it out with the AA team in the other semis. Like Kicks coach Sir Little Melf said, Kicks were there to finish Chapter 1 of the sensational Kick ‘n Boboza book. The two teams made their intentions of booking a place in the finals clear by closing down each other for quite sometime. When it looked like neither of the teams was going to score, it was Kicks who broke the goal drought after about 4 minutes of game time through Ru. After the first goal, the two sides started throwing each other with goals, but it was Kicks that came out victorious in that awesome fight.
Kicks beat Siemens 13-7 with all Kicks players finding the back of the net, something that has never happened before since the inauguration of the team. The sensational midfield Ru grabbed 2 goals, the magical midfield Denverio also got 2, the intellectual Little Melf scored 2, the solid-rock defender Ponkinic got 1, Leonardinho scored 3, and the deadly McDinovic scored a whipping 4 goals.

Kicks in battle for Gold
The crowd gathered at the Gabba ground to witness the game of all times [the collision of the giants] when Kicks went head-to-head with the mighty Car Boutiques in the Final. The battle for gold began when Coach Little Melf brought in Kicks’ magnificent goal-keeper Tshepo ‘The Firewall’ in the post to stop Boutiques’ fearsome shots. Tshepo did exceptionally well to prevent countless Boutiques’ shot from going through. It was McDinovic who put Kicks in the lead after 2 minutes of play. McDinovic scored again with a superb long range strike to put Kicks in a satisfying 2-0 lead. But the fuming Boutiques’ reduced the lead a minute later with a strange goal to make it 2-1. Kicks’ Captain Leonardinho restored Kicks’ 2 goal lead with a remarkable goal to make it 3-1.
Boutiques showed why they are regarded as the most feared team by scoring two quick goals to make it 3-3. The tension was getting on the crowd before the coach introduced Dimino in game. Within few minutes, coach’s move paid-off when Dumino connecting well with Denverio mesmerized Boutiques’ defense. Dumino scored a breathtaking goal to put Kicks back in the lead 4-3 before the break. The ladies started singing Kicks anthem again.
Boutiques tried on several occasions to come back but could not break Kicks wall administered by Ponkinic. But Boutiques did not stop trying until they scored an equalizer minutes later. 4-4 was the score before the deadly McDinovic restored Kicks’ lead with a brilliant shot to make it 5-4. Captain Leonardinho came back into play with a long range shot to make it 6-4. Boutiques got another goal back and made it 6-5, but that did not stop the undying Kicks’ fans from singing.
Boutiques were fighting with all they had for an equalizer. They came very strong on Kicks who looked like they were about to give in. The ball was frequently played at Kicks’ half when the tired looking captain Leonardinho [motivated by the singing fans] broke away from the defense and went on to kill Boutiques’ hopes of coming back with another superb goal to make it 7-5. Kicks were relieved by the fans when they started counting down with the clock…”5-4-3-2-1… And GOLD goes to Kick ‘n Boboza…”
“Are we the champs?” asked one fan after seeing the league’s management presenting Gold medals to Kick ‘n Boboza.
Another fan answered: “Yes, it is official, Kicks are the Champions…”

It will be all or nothing for Kicks, says the intellectual coach Sir Little Melf: “like I said ‘ante’ [before], the players know how much is at stake. We are not going to settle for anything but Gold and we’ll destroy anything that would try to get on our way. We did not come this far to fail, it is time we get paid for all our efforts”. Kicks beat Siemens 14-7 in the first encounter, lost 8-5 in the second encounter then followed by 8-8 draw in the last clash. One can safely say there is no team that will go as favorite for this clash, the chances are all 50-50.

Kicks win emotional ‘semi-final’ derby
Two giants [Kick’n Boboza & Car Boutique] collided on Friday 24th in a game that left the crowd flabbergasted. A star-studded Boutiques opened the scoring through a penalty after Ponkic enjoying his countless touches played the ball inside restricted area. Boutiques got its second from a long range short that caught napping Mcdinovic in an off-guard moment.
Boutiques were in a comfortable 2-0 lead when Little Melf introduced Dumino. Dumino [Kicks’ hero of the night] combined well with master Denverio and scored three quick goals to restore his team’s hope. Boutiques showed the crowed why they are being referred to as the Kings of the MidCity soccer by scoring two more exhilarating goals.

Another happy smile on the coach, players, and Kicks fans…
While Kicks were busy celebrating, they were told the game was not a semifinal but actually the last game of the league. The finals are to be played next Friday 31st of Oct.

Kicks meet Group B Giants in semis [Friday 24 at 19:30]
After conquering Friday the 17th Kicks find themselves faced with another mountain to climb [a semi final appointment with group B giants The Car Boutique]. Kicks have a score to settle with these giants of the East. The giants narrowly beat Kicks 9-6 in August. The sensational Kicks were looking for vengeance when the two giants collided during the second leg played in September. The outcome of that breathtaking game was a hard fought 8-8 draw.
“Yah…, this is one encounter as a coach you just have to let the boys do the job their own way. The boys know how much is at stake. We have played this physical team before, and we know where we could have destroyed them. One thing for sure is that our noses smell nothing but gold. We are not going to settle for anything less. We are not to bow before anyone “ stated the team’s player coach Sir Little Melf during the team’s media briefing on Wednesday.

Celebrations, red cards, tears, and goals: Friday the 17th
Celebrations, red cards, tears, and goals went on when Kicks took on two of its group B rivals, AA and Siemens last Friday: Doom’s day.
1st Game: Kick ‘n Boboza VS AA Soccer Team
Kicks made its intentions of stealing the night very clear when they took on a well organized AA team. The much celebrated intellectual player coach Sir Little Melf started the game at the back with Ponkivic the rock-solid dreadlocked defender who was seriously protecting his territory like a Rastafarian protecting his weed from being stolen. Denverio was running wild in the midfield like a Capetonian searching for tik. Mcdinovic’s deadly strikes were placed up-front. The stylish midfielder Ru Mr Full-time no mistake and the sensational captain Leonardinho gave the backing from the bench. With such kind of combination it did not come as a surprise when Kicks gave the poor AA a hiding of its life by thrashing it 13-6. Denverio, Ru and Leonardinho got the back of the net on one occasion. One will ask where did the remaining 10 goals come from. Well look no further, Mcdinovic is the name you are looking for. This deadly goal scoring machine ran riot on AA as if he was told Carlos Santana was there looking for Bafana players for the next Mandela Challenge. 13-6 was the final score. Another happy smile on Sir Little Melf’s face.
2nd Game: Kick n Boboza VS Siemens
Immediately after giving AA a hiding, Kick ‘n Boboza was not given a time to rest, not even a minute to take on the fresh Siemens. Siemens was playing its first game of the night something Kicks fans referred to as unfair treatment from soccer management. Kicks put the whole drama behind and focused on fighting with all energy it had. Leonardinho opened the scoring with a long range shot and put Kicks up-front with a 1-0 lead. As if Kicks was playing for the first time Leonardinho combined with His Excellency Denverio and scored the second goal for Kicks. Siemens responded by scoring a goal. Kick’s stylish midfield Ru made it 3-1. The drama began when Siemens were awarded a penalty after Kicks goal minder of the game Mcdinovic was controversially adjudged to have handled the ball outside his line.
3-2 was the score when Denverio made it into the score list to put Kicks on a 4-2 lead. Siemens scored another goal to make the score 4-3. Leonardinho scored again to make it 5-3. Siemens were awarded another penalty and made it 5-4. Another penalty was awarded to Siemens but this time Mcdinovic saved it. The penalties and free-kicks against Kicks were beginning to get to Kicks nerves. However Denverio made it 6-4 with 5 minutes remaining. Siemens got back to the game and scored two more goals. 6-6 was the score when Siemens scored a controversial goal to make it 6-7. Leonardinho hit back with a goal to make it 7-7.
More drama…more drama unfolded after Siemens scored their 8th. Mcdinovic was eagerly on his way to score Kicks’ equalizer when Siemens’ bad-boy defender pushed him, the referee did not award a free-kick Mcdinovic retaliated and pushed back, before fans could know exactly what was happening all prayers were around Mcdinovic and Siemens’ bad-boy. The game was stopped for a while. Mcdinovic and the bad-boy were given red cards. Both teams were playing with two men in the field. Time was running out for Kicks who were desperately looking for an equalizer.
Indeed hard times call for hard steps Ponkinic was issued a yellow card for kicking Siemens’ player. With very few seconds remaining, Siemens playing the ball at the back in order to buy time, made a mistake of their life by making the goal keeper to hold on to the ball more than he is allowed to. Kicks were awarded a last chance to equalize through a penalty. Surprisingly, Leonardinho who is known for scoring best penalties did not have the guts to take the penalty not even Ponkivic had the heart to raise to the occasion. Denverio came out of his goal posts and made a brave step. Prayers were need from fans and players at the bench. Denverio became the hero of the night by converting the penalty into a goal. Tears of joy were rolling down on Sir Little Melf, fans, and players. Kicks 8 Siemens 8…. “What a game” sighed the undoubtedly Kicks’ number one supporter Abigail.

Doom’s day: Friday the 17th
Pride, Status, Reputation, Supremacy ect… will be at stake when the glorious Kick’n Boboza takes on two of its group B rivals on Friday the 17th. Kicks go in these games occupying the unfamiliar position three in the log. “Totally unacceptable” stated Kicks coach Little Melf [Molese Kekana] at the team’s media briefing on thursday when asked about their current position on the log. Little Melf said the team has prepared so well that he feel sorry for anyone who will try to get on his team’s way to the gold medals.
Mcdinovich [McDonald Mashego], the team’s deadly striker said he is confident the team will conquer its opponents tomorrow. He said he has never seen the team’s superb midfielders Denverio [Denver Lentoor], Dumino [Dumisani Miya] and Ru [Reuben Moeletsi] looking so eager to win a game like this before. Ponkich [Maniki Moloi] the team’s rock-solid defender was seen doing extra training all by himself after the team’s Thursday morning training.
“Friday’s opponents are in for a big surprise. We are bringing in something they have never seen before” said the team’s captain Leonardinho [Leonard Masango]. "We have two new hot talents in Badiseng Khombane and Pheah Malepeng. The two are very exciting to watch". If Tshepo ‘spider’ Tlhaku show up in the poles tomorrow Siemens and AA will be a history in the next day” said one of Kicks’ lady fans.

Siemens get free gifts from Kicks
Siemens get free gifts from Kicks
Friday the 3rd saw kicks parading new players in Pheah [on loan from FC GCIS] and Badiseng [R25 million from Reserve Bank FC]. Kicks’ two shining stars: player coach Melf and Ponki were left out of the squad to attend to family matters. Rueben ‘Ru’ was the coach of the night, with Leonard in goal keeping department, Denver controlling the defense, Dumi operating the midfield and McD leading the striking force. Dumi opened the scoring with a superb strike in less than a minute. Man of the match Denver made in 2-0 after connecting well with McD. Kicks introduced Pheah and Badiseng later in the first half and the two did extremely good producing exciting touches that resulted in McD scoring two goals before half time.
The score was 4-0 when Siemens fighting with all weapons in their possession got two goals back [courtesy of a fatigue that was beginning to hit Kicks]. During half time caretaker-coach Reuben warned the team about Siemens’ tactics that could overcome Kicks but unfortunately the entire Kicks team was exhausted and did not take much of what was coming from the coach. Indeed Siemens got back on its feet and scored 6 more freely available goals. Not even Leonardinho who scored 1 goal had energy to fright back. Kicks lost 8-5 to Siemens [a team Kicks beat 14-7 in the first leg].

Kicks learn the hard-way
Kicks learn the hard-way
A draw against the current group B leaders The Car Boutique cost Kick & Boboza more than they have thought. Kick & Boboza who intended to close in on the gap to number one spot learned on Monday that Siemens who crushed AA 20-0 on Friday have now overthrown Kicks from their comfortable second spot.
Kicks have to realize that exciting play is not important than scoring more goals in this competition. Kicks next game is on Friday 19th Sep at 19:00 against AA. The team’s captain Leonardinho assured fans they will see a different Kicks team on Friday and highlighted the game will be dedicated to their striker Cedric who is recovering in hospital from a misfortunate incident.
The team and its fans wish Cedric a speedy recovery. Hope to see you in your aggressive BEE shoes soon Ced.

Kick n Boboza VS The Car Boutique
Kick n Boboza VS The Car Boutique
Match Report:
There is no doubt that Friday the 12th ‘s game will for a long time remain in the memory box of indoor soccer fans. The fans witnessed the battle between the rock-solid Car Boutique [who currently tops group B] and the most exciting to watch second spot occupants Kick n Boboza.
First Half:
Kicks coach Little Melf started with McD [in the post], Ponki [at the back], Denver [in the middle of the park] and Ru [up front] with Leonardinho and Dumi watching from the bench. It showed from the first whistle that the game will be a tough one when the two sides closed each other down in the midfield. Kicks could not penetrate the Boutiques’ solid wall with good 1-2, 1-2 touches by Denver and Ru. The score remained 0-0 for more than 2 minutes until Kicks’ very own defender Ponki launched a powerful hard-wall breaking missile to put his team in the lead. Boutique cut short the celebration by responding with a goal. Kick’s midfield genius Denver did not like Boutique’s response and scored his team’s 2nd from an awkward position.
While Kick’s were enjoying their 2-1 lead, goalkeeper McD was allegedly penalized for playing the ball outside his box and Boutique converted a penalty into a goal. Kicks Coach Little Melf brought in Dumi for Denver and Leonardinho for Ru. The coach’s good tactics were rewarded shortly when Leonardinho scored an easy goal courtesy of a good pass from Dumi. Leonardinho showed his gratitude when he later set up Dumi who increased Kicks lead to 4-2 with a glowing goal. Boutiques made the score 4-3 before halftime.
Second Half:
Leonardinho went to the post and McD went to play upfront. The second half was exciting with Denver’s brilliant passes entertaining the crowd, Ru’s countless powerful shots getting stopped by Boutiques keeper, Ponki well known for his dribbling skills marshaling Kicks’ defense, I bet the fans got more than what they bargained for when Dumi scored his second goal to make the score 5-3. Boutiques responded by scoring two quick goals to make the game more interesting. 5-5 was on the score board when McD scored a brilliant goal to change the score to 6-5.
Boutiques came very strong on kicks and scored another two quick goals to make it 6-7 in their favor. Leonardinho came to Kicks rescue and scored with a powerful long range shot to make it 7-7. As if the drama was not enough for fans, Boutiques scored a goal in the last minute to make it 7-8. Just when it looked like it was all over for Kicks, it took a 24 seconds count down shot from McD to miraculously change the score to 8-8. A big smile on the coach’s face.
“A game I will never forget” said a fan [with his hand over his lips]
“Only if last game’s goalkeeper Tshepo was in the post, Kicks would have won this game” said the other fan.
